Youth Rights Convention takes a step forward

A great step forward in the process towards the drafting of a Convention on the Rights of Young People when the motion on a Convention on the Rights of Young People in Europe, tabled by Finnish parliamentarian Antti Kaikkonen in the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) in June 2009, was discussed by the Bureau of PACE in the PACE sitting 28th September-2nd October 2009. The motion has been remitted to the Sub-Committee on Youth of the PACE, who will appoint a rapporteur and compile a report within the coming two years.
